Policies

TGIFF (The Galactic Imaginariulm Film Festival), organized by APEC (Asociația pentru Educație Complementară), is a cultural event with a sideline of Science Fiction and Fantasy pop culture programe, designed in a family-friendly manner, that provides our attendeesa number of days full of fun and a safe place to socialize and have a good time. For this, we have put in place the following rules of conduct that must be followed by the attendees.

If you purchase a ticket for TGIFF, you acknowledge that you will follow all of these policies at all times.

Please report to us if you experience any form of harassment or note any violation of our policies, before or after TGIFF. You can contact us by email before the event or contact the Reception Desk or any Staff Member during the event.

General policies

We do not tolerate the following activities at TGIFF:

  • physical or verbal harassment of other members, guests of the Festival, or members of Staff
  • sexual misconduct, such as indecent exposure, offensive touching, or other sexual harassment
  • engaging in disruptive and unsafe behavior that disturbs other members, guests of the Festival, or members of Staff
  • asking any guest of TGIFF for an autograph or photograph outside the convention’s posted autograph/photo hours
  • possession or use of any illegal drug, narcotic or banned substance
  • possession or use of any item defined as a weapon, illegal or not, with the exception of costume weapons (as defined in our Weapons Policy, below)
  • distribution of alcoholic beverages to any person under the age of 18
  • disruptive or inappropriate behavior, or any engagement in activity prohibited by law
  • any act which could result in substantial risk of harm to people or property

Any violation of this policies will result in the various consequences, included but not limited to the revocation of an attendee’s access to the Festival without refund, permanent ban from attending future TGIFF events, contacting the appropriate legal authorities.

TGIFF expects from all Festival attendees to follow our Courtesy Policy, in relation with other attendees, guests and Staff Team, as follows:

  • mobile phones and other electronic devices will be put on silence mode or turned off during panel programs, film screenings, workshops or other activities that require silenced; also attendees must remain quiet and not speak amongst themselves, except when participating in discussion with the Panel
  • parents must depart immediately the program room if their small children became noisy, cry or misbehave
  • close and open doors quietly, when entering or leaving program rooms
  • respect othere attendees by not disrupting or intruding in their private conversations, videorecording and or taking photographs, recording sessions, or other activities

Related to Festival Guests, attendees must:

  • not monopolize the time of the guest in any form
  • ask a Guest for autograph or photo, outside of any autograph session or photo studio session
  • practice discretion when approaching a guest in a public place, like bar or restaurant, in order to not affect Guest’s existing conversations or personal time

Ticket Policies

Tickets are sold using bilete.ro website. All the ticket related problems will be addressed to that ticket dealer, with the exception of special tickets or invitations, distributed by the Festival organizers (case in which you must contact us by email or at the Recetion Desk).

The tickets are personal and cannot be transferred to other person. They cannot be used in the next or following years, if you do not attend the Festival.

Photography and Video Recording/Streaming

Video recording and streaming of our events is not allowed in the following premisses:

  • panel programe
  • film screening and after screening events
  • workshops
  • Photo Ops
  • Autograph signing
  • Art Show
  • Model Exhibition

Photography and video recording/streaming of other activities is permitted if subjects being videotaped has expressed his/her consent , also if it does not disrupt events or the flow of people traffic. If any convention guest or staff member request that videotaping of a particular item (such as autograph sessions or photo ops) be discontinued, attendees must comply with this request immediately.

Access bracelet and Identification

Attendees must come to the Registration Desk, where they will present the ticket and get the access bracelet. The bracelets must be worn all time; they can not be transferred to other people. Loosing the bracelet will lose your access right to the Festival. Replacing the bracelet will be made after the check of the identity with a valid ID and the charging of a fee.

Please do not tamper with the bracelett, all visible tampering will lose your right to access the Festival.

Attendees must present the bracelet on the hand every time they access a Festival venue or it is requested by the Staff Members.

Costuming and Attire

This Festival is considered a family-friendly event, so keep this in mind when choosing costumes, using common sense and good taste. Festival organizers reserves the right to deem a costume unacceptable and request the wearer to make the neccesary modifications . Also take into consideration that bare feet walking is not allowed.

Weapons Policy

Costume related weapons are, in some cases, important for the the costume as a hole. Here are some rules regarding them:

  • all weapons must be non-working, so are forbiden any water pistols or projectile throwing pistols and other type of guns that throw projectiles, darts etc.
  • bladed weapons outside their sheds and play acting is permited ONLY in special designated areas, like the LARP area
  • expolisves or chemicals of any kind including, but not limited to, smoke powder, sparklers, and fireworks, are not permitted at the Festival

DO NOT bring anything that will scare or annoy the other attendees.

These rules apply solely to costume weaponry. Festival organizers does not permit any real weapons to be used or brought to the convention at all as per our general policies above; violation of this rule will be immediate reporting to proper authorities.

Liability

TGIFF and the organizer, APEC are not responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or injury with regard to any attendee at any time. Attendees are responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result. Civil or medical emergencies and criminal activity must be reported to the Reception Desk, who will contact the proper law enforcement authorities.
