The TGIFF film festival will take place both in person and online:
- from 23 to 26 September, there will be four days of movie projections at a drive-in cinema in the parking lot of the Sala Polivalentă from Dumbrăvița
- in 26 and 27 September, the online festival will take place in 7 virtual locations
For the drive-in event, the organisers received a temporary radio licence from the National Authority of Communications (Autoritatea Națională de Comunicații) ANCOM. The sound for the movies that will be shown at the drive-in event will be broadcasted with ultra-short waves, on the 87.9 Mhz frequency. In order to do this, we bought a broadcasting kit made by PCS-Electronik from Slovenia.
The participants at the drive-in event will be able to receive the broadcast with their car’s radio or with a portable radio, if they do not want to waste power from their car’s battery. The broadcast can also be received with the FM radios of the cell phones, if they have such a function.
For the online festival, we have decided not to use Google Meet anymore and to focus solely on the ZOOM application. To do this, we have purchased another ZOOM licence.
As for the Awards Gala, this will be presented by Ms. Irina Margareta Nistor, the jury’s president, and by Mr. Sorin Ciutacu, University professor at the West University of Timișoara (WUT), in the TV studio from WUT, as we have signed a protocol with the University.
